Create a Project

A project is a set of reports and represents a report suite. When you create a project, you are creating a folder of that name under the storage/reportico/projects folder. You must create project before you create any reports.

Before starting ensure you are in design mode, by entering the admin password from the admin page - otherwise you can't create a project

Go to the admin menu and click on the "Create A New Project" link above in order to create a new reporting suite. You will see the following :-

For the purpose of this introduction, we are going to set just 3 fields. Firstly with the database type leave the default "Use Existing October Connection" This means we will connect to our October database using the October connection settings (there is nothing stop you reporting against a different database by filling the relevant database type and connection settings ).
Also enter a project name of "myproject" (a project folder is created with name under the October Reportico storage area under storage/reportico/projects ), and a project title of your choice say "My First Project" this will act as a title for the report project menu. Finally press the "Go" button. You should see this :-

Now return to the Admin page and enter you new project by choosing the project name against "Run Project Report Suite" as follows::-

and you should be in your project report suite,as shown below, ready to create a report!!! Now lets do that ..
